Wire Harness Bypass - Apex and DRR
WITH AFTERMARKET KILL TETHER
1- STATOR - (BEHIND THE WATER PUMP COVER)
- There are 2 wires
- Black w/red stripe - Plug this wire directly into the matching wire on the cdi box
- White w/red stripe - Plug this wire directly into the matching wire on the cdi box
2- TETHER
- Identify the wire that comes out of the exposed metal part
- Ground this wire to the frame
- The other wire will be combined with orange wire from cdi box - connected to coil blade
3- The CDI (BLACK BOX ABOVE CARBURETOR)
- There is a plug with 2 wires (orange and black)
- Cut the plug off
- Run orange wire to hot lead blade on the coil - combined with tether wire (see #2)
- Ground the black wire to the frame
- Ground black wire with white stripe to frame
4- Make sure to run an independent ground from engine to frame
